Amazon Promotes Incest-themed Pornographic Books to Stepdads

You promote what you permit.

Unfortunately, in the case of Amazon, that includes incest-themed pornographic books.

If someone makes the innocent search “stepdad daughter” on Amazon.com, the online marketplace returns highly explicit “erotica” featuring themes of incest on the first page of results. This material is often highly graphic, includes manipulation from positions of authority, and normalizes incestual relationships.

Amazon has clearly failed to provide a consumer-friendly environment on its shopping platform.

Shoppers should not be bombarded with advertisements for sexually graphic erotica when searching for gifts for their loved ones. This company, a corporate behemoth used by at least 110 million Americans, has the responsibility to not normalize sexual exploitation. We demand that they remove these items and take a look at the other ways their company is profiting from sexual abuse.

Step-parent sexual abuse of children is a tragic reality in today’s society. Content such as this trivializes the abuse faced by countless people across the country and the world.

This is not the first time Amazon has come under fire for items available on their platform. Previously, Amazon was criticized for selling e-books by the infamous Daryush “Roosh” Valizadeh, a self-proclaimed “pick-up artist”, who promoted the drugging and rape of women.

The National Center on Sexual Exploitation has named this corporation to its annual Dirty Dozen List, which names and shames 12 mainstream facilitators of sexual exploitation. Amazon also sells sex dolls (many of which are child-like), eroticized child nudity books, and more.
