Lawsuits Are the Linchpin in the Fight to End Sexual Exploitation

What is it going to take to bring down the seeming-juggernaut that is the commercial sex industry? At the National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE), we believe a robust and multi-disciplinary approach is crucial. Culture needs to be changed and that culture change needs to include corporate change, public policy change, and significant repercussions for the rampant abuse and exploitation perpetrated by the industry in its myriad forms.

Bringing an end to the commercial sex industry is a tall order, but we believe it is possible and we strive to see it happen. The NCOSE Law Center is a crucial element in that pursuit.

Lawsuits have long been the linchpin for movements against other destructive cultural forces such as smoking, opioids, and more. We believe that 1) the same is true for the movement to end sexual exploitation, 2) the NCOSE Law Center has proven this, and 3) that we have a winning strategy which can be scaled.

Through the law, we can set social norms, hold exploiters accountable, and help survivors find justice. We’ve already brought groundbreaking lawsuits against the companies behind Pornhub and XVideos, as well as against international technology giants like Twitter.

There is a tidal wave of social change that will come from precedent-setting rulings against exploiters and improved laws protecting the innocent and vulnerable. Countless survivors will be able to pursue the justice they deserve, and millions of potential victims will be spared ever experiencing sexual abuse and exploitation in the first place. With the partnership of allies like you fueling the expansion of these efforts, the entirety of the commercial sexual exploitation industry and its enablers can be held accountable for their crimes.

The NCOSE Law Center Exists to Help Survivors of Sexual Abuse and Exploitation
