WASHINGTON, DC (May 12, 2025) – The National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) Law Center joined co-counsel in filing lawsuits on behalf of a minor child, Q.R., against Chaturbate.com, Jerkmate.com, and Techpump Solutions (Superporn.com), and Titan Websites for allegedly failing to implement age verification on their websites, as required by Kansas law, which resulted in a Kansas child’s access to harmful pornography. These are the first lawsuits filed in the U.S. that challenge alleged violators of age verification laws.
“Kansas law requires pornography companies to implement reasonable age verification methods, and the companies named in these lawsuits failed to do so, resulting in Q.R.’s access to material that is harmful to minors,” said Dani Pinter, Senior Vice President and Director of the Law Center, National Center on Sexual Exploitation.
Q.R. is a 14-year-old minor child who resides in Kansas with his mother, Jane Doe. Jane Doe was vigilant in monitoring Q.R.’s devices to prevent his exposure to harmful material during this important developmental stage of his life. However, on August 12, 2024, Q.R. found an old laptop that was stored forgotten in a closet. Unfortunately for Q.R., it was still in working condition. Q.R., using this old laptop, was able to access the internet and began searching for hardcore pornography. This harmful content was easy to find on websites Chaturbate.com, Jerkmate.com, Superporn.com, and Titan Websites. These hardcore pornography websites allowed the child Q.R. easy access to the harmful material on their sites by failing to implement reasonable age verification as required by Kansas law.
“It is unreasonably dangerous for these pornography websites to provide this product which they know is harmful to children, that children are drawn to access, and do access, without employing age verification as required by Kansas law. Our plaintiff deserves every measure of justice,” Pinter said.
Online pornography can be harmful to children, as it disrupts the natural formation of children’s sexual-arousal templates, among other harms. Online pornography websites are rampant with content that includes sexual assault, rape, child sexual abuse, image-based sexual abuse, along with other violent and racist themes. A new report reveals pornography website algorithms take users to more extreme material, desensitizing them, and spurring their escalation to child sexual abuse material and acting out what they see on real children.
The lawsuits were filed in U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas. The National Center on Sexual Exploitation Law Center and Mann Wyatt Tanksley represent the plaintiff.
The NCOSE Law Center has been fighting for justice for survivors who have experienced sex trafficking or abuse and currently represents survivors of sexual exploitation in litigation against X (formerly Twitter), Pornhub, XVideos, and XHamster.
