Matthew T. Powell, Ph.D.

Matthew T. Powell, Ph.D., received his degree in Religious Studies from Marquette University in 2007 where he served as Smith Family Fellow.  After teaching and directing service learning for five years at Walsh University in Ohio, he moved to Washington D.C. to direct community outreach efforts at MedStar Washington Hospital Center (MWHC). While there, he established the MWHC Religious Traditions Outreach initiative, designed to work with health ministries across the District of Columbia to create and support public health programming.  In addition to his work supporting public health, he also served in the Washington Hospital Center Foundation as the Assistant Director for Grants & Development.  In this capacity, Matthew worked to secure funding to support both clinical work and community-based health programming.

Matthew joined the National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) in August 2015 as the new Director of Development.  In this role, he will spearhead development and fundraising efforts to support the continued growth of NCOSE, including developing and executing the annual fundraising plan.

Matthew earned his Bachelor of Arts from the Program of Liberal Studies at the University of Notre Dame and his Master of Arts from the Tisch School of Arts at New York University.
