WHO: National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE)

EVENT: 2016 Coalition to End Sexual Exploitation Summit

WHEN: September 29-October 1

WHERE: Omni Houston Hotel Westside, 13219 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77079

WHY: Sex trafficking, sexual violence, child sexual abuse, prostitution, pornography, and more, are all links on a seamless continuum of sexual exploitation. At the 2016 Coalition to End Sexual Exploitation (CESE) Summit, experts and advocates from around the nation will gather together to exchange innovative and multi-disciplined approaches to combating these social and public health ills. Training for combating sex trafficking at the Super Bowl will be provided, along with the latest research on all forms of sexual exploitation, including pornography. Pornography is linked to sex trafficking and is also associated with violence against women, child sexual abuse, rape culture, increased STI rates, and sexual dysfunction among young men. Survivors of sexual exploitation, neurosurgeons, therapists, women’s rights activists, former pornography addicts, and more will be presenting at the CESE Summit, revealing that the rising movement against sexual exploitation is galvanizing and uniting people from diverse disciplines and perspectives to address the full spectrum of sexual exploitation.

There will also be a mini Porn Harms conference on Thursday, September 1st. The one-day Porn Harms event is a 101 training for concerned members of the community who want to learn the latest research on the neurological, physiological, and developmental problems caused by pornography use. This event, which only costs $50, is vital for anyone who is seeking to better protect their children and families.
