WASHINGTON, DC (September 18, 2024) – The National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) called on the U.S. House to pass the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA), which was marked up by the House Energy and Commerce Committee today.

“Big Tech has prioritized profit over child protection for too long. The Kids Online Safety Act is the best piece of online child protection legislation to hold Big Tech accountable. The U.S. House can and should fully support our children’s safety and well-being by passing the Kids Online Safety Act. Our children cannot wait for another legislative session,” said Dawn Hawkins, CEO, National Center on Sexual Exploitation.

“KOSA will help protect children from the massive amount of online harm, including child sexual exploitation, sextortion, suicide instruction, harassment, eating disorder content, and more.”

“We urge U.S. House and Senate leadership to ensure that the final version of KOSA has the most stringent protections in place,” Hawkins said.
