WASHINGTON, DC (November 22, 2024) – The National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) applauded the nomination of Pam Bondi for U.S. Attorney General.

“Pam Bondi is an ideal nominee for U.S. Attorney General. This marks a powerful and encouraging step forward in the fight against sex trafficking and the exploitation of vulnerable individuals,” said Dawn Hawkins, CEO, National Center on Sexual Exploitation.

“Throughout her career, Pam Bondi has proven herself to be a fierce and unwavering advocate for human dignity. As Florida’s Attorney General, she pioneered impactful anti-trafficking initiatives, hosted groundbreaking conferences to combat sexual exploitation, and championed innovative solutions that other states have since followed. She has prioritized listening to survivors, amplifying their voices, and driving real change based on their experiences. She has boldly addressed critical issues others have often avoided, such as the harms of pornography, the need for tech accountability in protecting children online, and the importance of targeting demand by holding sex buyers accountable.

“We are encouraged to see an Attorney General who understands the urgency of enforcing our nation’s laws against sex trafficking, child exploitation, and sexual abuse. We are hopeful that under her leadership, demand reduction will be prioritized, federal obscenity laws will once again be enforced, and reforms will be made to improve the federal grant-making process, ensuring that survivors and the organizations serving them receive the resources they need to thrive.

“This turn toward leadership with integrity, boldness, and a commitment to justice is a reason for great hope. We welcome Pam Bondi as the country’s top law enforcement official and stand ready to support her efforts to create a safer, more just future for all,” said Hawkins.
