WASHINGTON, DC (May 2, 2022) – The National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) commended the nomination of Cindy Dyer for Director of the Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking, with rank of Ambassador-at-Large.

“We are thrilled with Cindy Dyer’s nomination to this position, as she is a knowledgeable subject matter expert who is familiar with national and international trends in human trafficking. Her experience means she won’t be fooled by misrepresentations of the sex trade that seek to camouflage its inherently violent, exploitative nature. As a former prosecutor, Dyer can also help foreign government increase human trafficking prosecutions,” said Dawn Hawkins, CEO of the National Center on Sexual Exploitation.

“We encourage Dyer to direct significant effort to address the ubiquitous role of technology and social media platforms in facilitating human trafficking, as evidenced by reports by the UNODC and OSCE.

“We also urge her to confront sex buyers who fuel the demand for sex trafficking.”
