NCOSE Parent Center Launches to Give Immediate Resources and Help to Parents

WASHINGTON, DC (May 15, 2026) – With child online safety issues plaguing children worldwide, the National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) released a new AI tool to immediately give parents a way to find trusted resources and answers concerning their children and technology. The AI tool is part of NCOSE’s new Parent Center, a platform designed to equip, encourage, and empower parents as they navigate today’s digital landscape.

Parents frequently don’t know where to turn for answers when they have immediate concerns about their child’s safety online. The new AI tool will be able to answer questions like:

  • My child was exposed to pornography by his friends, how do I address this?
  • Is Roblox safe for my 10-year-old?
  • How do I set healthy screen time boundaries in my household?
  • My teen was sextorted – what should I do now?

These are all questions parents have had, but until now, have struggled to find trusted sources to rely on for answers.

“As technology becomes embedded in childhood and adolescence, many parents are left without the transparency or resources they need to understand risks and make informed decisions. The Parent Center was created to close that gap. While Big Tech offers AI assistance tools, they are unregulated and can provide misleading information. NCOSE’s Parent Center AI tool draws on reliable sources and was created by parents, for parents,” said Layne Shill, Director of the Parent Center, National Center on Sexual Exploitation.

“Children face a relentless wave of sexual exploitation directed at them when they are online, and parents are often overwhelmed and unsure where to start to protect their children from harm. Current tech solutions like parental controls are hard to keep up with, inconsistent, and often hard to understand. The Parent Center is designed to give parents simple, practical, and helpful information to meet parents where they are and guide them towards trusted resources,” she said.
