Angela is a pediatric nurse from San Antonio Texas who has taken a stand against rape culture and pornography.
After learning about the way that many pornographic films encourage child-themed and incest-themed fetishes, she began to realize that porn was shaping rape culture in America today. She immediately took action. She brought this issue to the attention of the media, and she was shocked when she saw the amount of push-back from pro-porn advocates online.
Still, Angela refused to be silenced. Courageously, Angela continues to raise awareness about the harms of pornography and the link between porn and rape culture and other kinds of sexual exploitation.
She visited the National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE), and with NCOSE representatives, she went to speak to some of her elected officials in Washington DC about the public health crisis of pornography.
Angela serves as an inspiration and a role model for so many concerned citizens who don’t know if they have the ability to make a difference. Angela’s story shows that you can make a difference in your own community, and in the nation’s capital!
