We have always been dedicated to holding Big Tech accountable, and this year was no different.
TikTok, after appearing on NCOSE’s Dirty Dozen List, instituted a series of significant changes that now serve as a standard for child safety!
Another 2021 Dirty Dozen List victory included Google, after five years of advocacy, defaulting all Chromebooks and Google products used for K-12 education to safety! This includes Safe Search and other filters are by default now flipped on worldwide, affecting millions of children.
Were active in the courts and legislatures.
The NCOSE Law Center filed a groundbreaking lawsuit against Twitter for its complicity in sex trafficking- and in August, a federal judge allowed the lawsuit to move forward, making it the first time a lawsuit against Twitter has advanced past their motion to dismiss!
Launched and formalized the International Centre on Sexual Exploitation (ICOSE).
ICOSE advised government leaders in over 10 countries, helped found the United Nationals International Day for Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse Prevention, and put together a coalition that led to the Canadian Parliament conduct hearings on the pernicious business practices of Pornhub and MindGeek!
