“We are grateful to have Teresa J. Helm join our team; her lived experience, knowledge of systems of exploitation, and heart for survivors of sex trafficking and sexual abuse are unparalleled and will serve to benefit the survivors we are helping to seek justice,” said Dawn Hawkins, CEO of the National Center on Sexual Exploitation.

“Child sexual abuse, sex trafficking, and the pornography industry have merged online fueling unprecedented trauma and harm. There is a fundamental need for survivors to seek legal remedies as they seek accountability from those who benefitted from their abuse. Our Law Center, of which Ms. Helm plays a significant role, is committed to championing the rights of survivors through the law.”

“I am pleased to join an organization with a commitment to help sexual abuse survivors fight back and pursue justice from those who have exploited them. My goal is to play a part in abolishing human trafficking, and I look forward to bringing that goal to fruition through my work at the National Center on Sexual Exploitation,” said Ms. Helm.

Ms. Helm holds an Associate of Applied Sciences degree (AAS) is a Certified Health and Life Coach, has worked in the ER as a Surgical Assistant, is a Student Midwife at Midwives College of Utah, and has an array of certificates in various fields of Women’s Healthcare.
