Hardcore porn in my mailbox!

I just wanted to share a brief comment.

I am a 41 year old man who has had an addiction to internet pornography. It almost tore my family apart, but with the help of God, my church, my wife, and some friends, I have been able to keep the addiction at bay.

This afternoon, I walked out to my mailbox and found a yellow-ish envelope with a return address in California. It looked like junk mail, but I have been awaiting some prizes and gift cards from various companies, so I opened it. I found myself holding a catalog offering hard-core pornographic materials for sale. I was quite angry to find this in the envelope, and I tossed it immediately into the trash.

However, by then the damage (so to speak) had been done. Just seeing one image on the outside cover of this catalog brought pornographic images flooding into my head, and it was difficult to concentrate on anything else. I finally got in the car, took a drive, and listened to a local Christian radio station (the subject on the show I turned on? Purity).

People think pornography is harmless. It is not. And you can’t do porn “just a little” either. It is an addictive force, and I have seen first-hand how it can tear apart couples and families.
