WASHINGTON, DC (April 9, 2025) – The National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) strongly condemns the video game “No Mercy,” available on the Steam platform, for its deeply disturbing and harmful themes, and urges Steam to remove the game from its platform.
This game promotes graphic sexual violence, incest, blackmail, and male domination, explicitly encouraging players to engage in non-consensual acts and misogynistic behavior and is described as such:
“’No Mercy’ is a 3D choice-driven adult Visual Novel with a huge focus on Incest and Male Domination. After your mother’s affair shatters your family, you take on a new role: not to fix what’s broken, but to claim her for yourself. Unveil her deepest secrets, subdue her, and make all women yours.” – The Steam game description
“This game graphically contains sex and violence, mature language, nudity, graphic depictions of oral, vaginal, and other sexual activities. The content includes incest, blackmail, unavoidable non-consensual sex, as well as the use of drugs, alcohol and cigarettes.” – “No Mercy” developers
“Never take ‘no’ for an answer.” – “No Mercy” game description that encourages users to sexually assault every female character in the game.
“Sexual violence is not a game—it’s a grave reality that devastates lives. Platforms like Steam must stop profiting from content that not only glorifies abuse and exploitation but outright encourages it,” said Haley McNamara, Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives and Programs at the National Center on Sexual Exploitation.
“We commend Collective Shout in Australia for their bold leadership in campaigning against this egregious game. Their tireless advocacy appears to have successfully pressured Steam to geo-block ‘No Mercy’ in Australia, a significant step forward in protecting vulnerable audiences. However, despite this progress, the game remains available globally, including in the United States, perpetuating its harmful influence on millions of users, including minors who can easily bypass Steam’s age verification measures.
“NCOSE calls on Steam to immediately remove ‘No Mercy’ from its platform worldwide and to implement stronger policies to prevent the distribution of games that glorify or promote sexual violence and objectification. We stand in solidarity with Collective Shout and other advocates in demanding accountability from tech companies to ensure online spaces are safe and free from content that fuels rape culture and misogyny,” said McNamara.
