We ask President Obama and congressional leaders to help convince Google, Microsoft and other Internet providers to meet this civic responsibility.
Make Porn an ‘opt-in’ service rather than the norm!
WHY AREN’T WE PROMOTING THE WHITE HOUSE PETITION HERE?
U.S. Supreme Court decisions in the 1990s and early years of this century regarding rights of access to Internet pornography by adults seem to indicate that the high court may not agree with a national law limiting access to pornography.  This has prevented MIM from supporting certain initiatives that rely on new legislation that would do so. Yet, companies providing Internet access can voluntarily limit porn site access to those who specifically opt in and we call upon Google, Microsoft, and all companies providing Internet access to do so immediately.  We also call upon the President of the United States and Congressional leaders to exhibit the necessary leadership to convince such companies that doing so is part of their civic responsibility.
