When Jane Doe was 20 years old, she met Tristan Tate, brother of influencer Andrew Tate. Tristan wooed her and made her believe they were deeply in love. Jane agreed to move to Romania to live with Tristan … but when she arrived, she quickly realized things weren’t right.
Jane alleges that she was put in a house with several other women, almost all of whom believed themselves to be in a romantic relationship with one of the Tate brothers. Most of the women were allegedly creating content on OnlyFans and giving all or most of the money to the brothers.
Jane alleges she was not allowed to leave the house without an escort and seemed to be under constant surveillance. One of the women confided experiences of physical and sexual abuse to Jane. Another confided that her life would be in danger if she ever shared what she knew of the Tate brothers.
Frightened, Jane Doe texted her family and a close friend about what she was observing. The friend, who was a U.S. marine, recognized the signs of sex trafficking immediately. Although Jane begged him not to, fearing it would make things worse, the marine knew he had a duty to report it. So he did, and the Tates’ compound was raided.
Jane Doe only wanted to escape quietly and leave this disturbing chapter behind her. She declined to speak to the media. She even refused to apply for restitution money that was available by law for crime victims in Romania.
All Jane Doe did was cooperate with law enforcement, providing witness testimony when she was questioned. And for that, the Tates have made her life a living hell.
They filed frivolous lawsuits against her and her parents, suing them for millions of dollars. They spread vile lies about Jane, leading to death threats and vicious harassment from the brothers’ extensive supporter base. For years, Jane Doe has lived in hiding, terrified for her life if the Tates or their followers ever find her.
And so, although it was the last thing Jane wanted, she eventually had no choice but to fight back. Represented by the NCOSE Law Center and law firm DiCello Levitt LLP, Jane filed a countersuit against the Tates.
And now, Jane Doe’s lawsuit has taken an important step forward: the Tates’ motion to dismiss has officially been denied! Jane Doe’s claims of defamation, abuse of process, and more will all proceed.

Survivors and Witnesses Must Not Be Silenced
Jane Doe’s countersuit moving forward is an important step forward not only for her sake, but for survivors at large. Andrew and Tristan Tate sued Jane, whom they knew didn’t have the money to defend herself, simply because she cooperated with law enforcement and testified to what she observed. If this was allowed to stand, it would have sent a terrifying message that powerful perpetrators can silence survivors and witnesses through lawfare.
