INTERPOL’s Unique Position to Investigate MindGeek

By:

Global advocates are being asked to help call on INTERPOL to instigate international criminal investigations into MindGeek by signing a joint letter. INTERPOL, particularly with its Global Complex for Innovation, is in the unique position to coordinate international investigations and cooperation into the organized crime currently taking place on pornography websites owned by MindGeek.

MindGeek is an international pornography and technology corporation headquartered in Luxembourg, with offices in Nicosia, London, Montreal, Bucharest and Los Angeles. Its pornography websites are viewed all around the world, particularly its flagship platform: Pornhub. (Learn more about the abuse and exploitation facilitated by this corporation here.)

As the letter states:

Based on the presented evidence, including testimony of victims and MindGeek executives before the Canadian Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics, it is clear that MindGeek has violated federal sex trafficking and child protection laws, particularly child pornography distribution and reporting laws across multiple countries.  For example, MindGeek executives stated in the Canadian hearing that their company reviews each video before it is publicly posted thus, supporting the contention that they knowingly and willfully distributed child sexual abuse materials which are present on their sites. Since MindGeek monetized the child sexual abuse materials, these admissions also show that they knowingly facilitated and benefited from sex trafficking of minors.

INTERPOL is in the unique position to hold this international corporation responsible. If you are with an organization or are a subject matter expert, please sign this joint letter today!
