Haley McNamara Appointed to DC Mayor’s Advisory Committee on Child Abuse and Neglect

Haley Halverson, Vice President of Advocacy and Outreach at the National Center on Sexual Exploitation was appointed to the Washington DC Mayor’s Advisory Committee on Child Abuse and Neglect this week.

This Committee advises DC Mayor Muriel Bowser on the multi-faceted continuum of the District of Columbia’s child welfare services, including prevention, early intervention, treatment, and sources of permanency (i.e., reunification, guardianship, kinship care, and adoption).

In her role, Haley Halverson will serve on the committee to form recommendations for improving child welfare services, promote public awareness, and develop targeted programs to address child abuse at the direction of the Mayor’s office. Haley Halverson does not speak on behalf of the DC Mayor’s office.

“Every community has a tremendous responsibility to combat the local abuse and neglect of children. I’m honored to be inducted to this committee that seeks to do just that, and I am looking forward to serving alongside incredible advocates, and public sector workers, in the DC area,” said Haley Halverson.
