After a year of relentless advocacy and steadfast support from passionate activists like you, we have achieved some of our greatest victories yet!
A groundbreaking Supreme Court decision that affirmed it was lawful for states to enact age verification on pornography websites; the signing into law of the TAKE IT DOWN Act, which criminalizes the creation and distribution of image-based sexual abuse; and despite pressure, survivors never gave up on the campaign to release the Epstein files, culminating in magnificent success.
These victories, as well as the many others we’ve accomplished this year, are a testament to the consistent benevolence and determination of NCOSE supporters. Without you fueling our work every single day, these wins would not have been possible.

Policy Wins
Fighting Image-Based Sexual Abuse
Sabrina (pseudonym) opened her phone one day to discover something that would change her life forever: Images of her body, taken from her social media accounts, had been uploaded to a pornography website where users edited them to create degrading and violent pornography. These photos, which captured some of Sabrina’s fondest memories—from holidays with her family to photos documenting her pregnancy— would now, forever, be tainted.
Many know image-based sexual abuse (IBSA) as “revenge pornography,” where a person leaks sexual images shared with them by a partner. That was already an ominous threat, and now, AI has vastly increased the scale of IBSA. Predators can generate sexual images and even full-on hardcore pornography of a person, simply by using AI to manipulate an innocuous photo of them. Anyone can be vulnerable to IBSA.
With you at our side, we have long been pushing for stronger federal protections against IBSA. Thankfully, lawmakers finally listened to your calls! In May, the president signed the TAKE IT DOWN Act into law, criminalizing the creation and distribution of image-based sexual abuse. It also gives platforms 48 hours to remove IBSA content from the time it was reported. This is a massive win for preventing this rapidly growing form of sexual violence!
Epstein Files to be Released
Thanks to your advocacy and the determination of survivors, all documents related to the case against sex traffickers Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell will be released! This is the first step to holding accountable the individuals who participated in and facilitated the exploitation of over 1000 victims at through Epstein and Maxwell’s sex trafficking ring.
NCOSE Survivor Services Coordinator, Teresa J. Helm, an Epstein/Maxwell survivor herself, spoke about this victory at a press conference in November:
“It’s widely and undeniably clear that our current political climate is quite rigid and seemingly at war with one another. This sets a stage for voices – survivor voices – to get spoken over and drowned out by the political darts whizzing by. Not today though. Today our truth and our power have steadily risen up … Our voices prevail today.”
A Win at the Supreme Court
In January of 2025, the Supreme Court heard arguments in the case, Free Speech Coalition v. Paxton This case addresses a law passed in Texas last year, which requires age verification on pornography websites.
While the Free Speech Coalition (FSC, the lobbying arm for the pornography industry) argued that this law would infringe on privacy rights for adults accessing pornography, lawyers for Paxton pointed out that this logic is flawed.
As Justice Amy Coney Barrett prompted the legal team for FSC, “Explain to me why the barrier is different online than in a brick-and-mortar setting… You don’t have privacy if you go into the bookstore in Ginsberg or if you go to a movie theatre that displays pornographic movies. You have to show age verification.”
And she is exactly correct. If you have to age verify to purchase pornography in a brick-and-mortar store, why should the online space be any different?
In a historic victory, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Texas law, setting a nationwide precedent that pornography websites can legally be subject to age verification.
Law Center Achievements
Your support is vital to ensure we can bring justice for survivors of sexual exploitation. Thanks to generous donors, the NCOSE Law Center is able to represent all clients free of charge, so that anyone can afford to seek justice for their exploitation.
Twitter/X Lawsuit to Proceed, Overcoming Section 230
Thanks to your generous support, our lawsuit against X (formerly Twitter) has become the first federal lawsuit to proceed against a social media company for its failure to report CSAM and the harm it causes to children by this negligence. Also, this decision is now one of the small handful of cases to ever proceed against a website when they attempted to invoke Section 230 immunity as a defense. Talk about a groundbreaking victory!
Multiple Pornography Sites Sued to Protect Minors in the Kansas
With the unfathomable amount of content on the Internet these days, and the lackadaisical restrictions and filters by Internet platforms, teens and young children are coming across pornography. Sometimes they seek it out, sometimes it’s by accident. This is why, in Kansas, legislators have taken action to prevent minors from viewing pornography through an age verification law.
However, multiple pornography companies violated this law by allowing a 14-year-old boy to access their websites. This is why the NCOSE Law Center has filed a first-of-its-kind lawsuit against these companies for exposing this young boy to their harmful material. This would not have been possible without your support!
After an Unjust Ruling in Nevada, Your Support Enables an Appeal
We represent a courageous survivor suing Nevada’s legal brothels for sex trafficking her—including one run by a pimp who was also a government official. A federal court refused to let her proceed under pseudonym as Jane Doe, despite clear safety risks, and dismissed the case when she would not reveal her name publicly.
This sets a dangerous precedent for trafficking survivors, especially since the defendants had already threatened to use the media to harass her. No one should have to choose between personal safety and seeking justice. With your support, we are appealing this ruling and working to overturn it.
Corporate Advocacy Victories
Apple Extends Protections to 13-17s
Teens are one of the most vulnerable groups on the Internet. They are targeted by sextortion scams, spoon-fed harmful eating disorder and suicidal content through their algorithms, and more likely than ever before to come across pornography online.
But for too long, they were not afforded the same protections as children under 13 on the Internet. Because of the pressure created by thousands of supporters like you, Apple announced that all minors ages 0–17 will finally have default safety protections, including nude image blurring and web content filters. Previously, this was only offered to minors 12 and under.
Rape and Incest Games Removed, Spearheaded by Collective Shout
In a massive campaign across the globe, your voices led to the removal of over 500 rape and incest games on the platforms, Steam and Itch.io. These games, which allowed players to act out explicit violence, rape, and incest, are no longer promoted on these mainstream gaming platforms. Your advocacy with us, in partnership with Collective Shout, was essential to ensuring this victory!
Roblox Progress
Finally, Roblox, which still has their work cut out for them, is beginning to listen to your calls for child protection. The platform has been described as an “X-rated, pedophile hellscape,” due to the ease of circumventing safety features and the vast amounts of predators who flock to Roblox to exploit children.
Thanks to your persistent calls for change, Roblox has blocked users under 17 from Social Hangout spaces, reducing the risk of sexual exploitation on the platform. While this is a victory, we continue to strongly recommend children avoid playing Roblox until its safety features are more robust.
YOU are Turning the Tide!
As we close out the year and look ahead to 2026, we remain hopeful that, with supporters like you at our side, we will one day rid the world of sexual abuse and exploitation.
The foundation of the porn industry, built on exploitation and harm, is cracking. Lawmakers are pushing back, courts are holding companies accountable, and states are passing laws that require age verification, remove image- based sexual abuse, and force platforms to clean up the abuse they once ignored. The system that once protected exploitation is crumbling, and the swell of justice is growing stronger every day.
But weakening the system is not enough. We must build a wave of human dignity – a rising current that carries safety, respect, and protection to every home, school, workplace, and online space. This wave can prevent sexual exploitation before it reaches the shore, shielding children and families from harm, and sweeping away the structures that have allowed abuse to flourish.
Together, we are the wave. Your partnership drives this force. Every gift adds momentum, every action strengthens the swell, and every supporter pushes the current of change forward. With your help, we can prevent children from being exposed to abuse, stop victims from having their harm amplified online, and restore families to safety and calm.
